Strange Wilderness is a 2008 comedy-adventure film produced by Adam Sandler 's production company Happy Madison Productions, and was based on a series of independently produced short videos of the same name from the 1990s. This movie is not meant to be a cinematic masterpiece.

There's a certain amount of hubris involved in tacking more than an hour of bonus material onto a movie this shittythere's a Comedy Central special, some deleted scenes that are just as bad as the regular scenes, and a whole bit of Jonah Hill improvising a song.

Luckily for him, his father's survivalist friend, Bill Calhoun (JOE DON BAKER), has knowledge of a sighting of Bigfoot. This is all played for comedy. An old friend brings a story about Bigfoot in Ecuador, so a long road trip ensues with stops along the way and enough problems, misjudgments, and deaths to sink a less intrepid band.
Impressed with the footage, Lawson states to Pete that people love shark attacks. There are comments about liking Dick, if he ever lets his dog lick his name, and if his name gets hard in the morning. I get it, things arent going to work out according to plan, its going to be a disaster one way or another, with each bigger than the last situation ratcheting up the stakes in some random way. The movie really is underrated. (Note: The "Our Take" review of this title examines the film's artistic merits and does not take into account any of the possibly objectionable material listed below). Oh, I almost forgot Peter Dante, a.k.a. Shifting to Peter Gaulke talking on the phone, you find that the elderly host is Peter's recently deceased father. I can also see people being incredibly frustrated by its meandering storyline, misogynistic viewpoint, and numerous flat out unfunny jokes that make even the likes of Tim Allen look like a comedy god. When they bend over to look, he uses the car's hydraulic system to make it bounce upward and hit them in the face, knocking them down.
Various members of the crew eat and drink various things to make them vomit. This Blu-ray is a solid upgrade from the previously released DVD, but that doesnt mean it gives a standout performance, either, with average audio and video qualities, and some horrifically awful extras. Various characters do drugs (joints, bongs), and many are high from nitrous oxide, while one character is noted as being an alcoholic and is often seen drinking, and a character briefly smokes a cigar. We see TV footage of the TV van passing by with beer cans falling out of it. They arrive at Bill's cabin only to learn he already sold the map to Pierson. As it turns out, this was the only scene worth mentioning from Strange Wilderness. JOE DON BAKER plays a survivalist friend of Peter's late dad who wants to sell a map to Peter showing where Bigfoot was spotted (and needs the money to buy Lithium and another drug).
The male doctor then has the female nurse rhythmically massage the turkey's throat to make it relax and let go (with one man making a crude remark about her stroking the beak), but she then reacts in disgust to Peter having an erection (not seen), with him stating that he couldn't help it due to what she's doing and her being "f*cking hot."
